A late-night sketch.

An untitled sketch from my home studio. I make beats as Digital Haze, and I have hundreds of these.

What you’ll hear

A filtered synth intro builds for five seconds, goes almost silent for under a second, then a heavy sub-bass drop comes in and rides to the end.

Laid Bare and Polarity first came out on my own label. The label is closed and the songs were pulled. Both albums are being re-published.

Pixel art from the album film: Tony on a rocket belt and Alex in a yellow gyrocopter, flying over the sea toward an island with a hangar and a lighthouse.
The cover of Let’s Go Fly: a chrome “Yeah Man! 64” wordmark with a wing, on a soft blue sky.

01.4Yeah Man!

An album with my best friend.

Tony and I grew up on the same street. He teaches English in Japan now, and together we make music as Yeah Man! Our first album is built on the music from Pilotwings 64.

01.4a  The album

Let’s Go Fly.

A concept album in thirteen songs, built on Dan Hess’s music for Pilotwings 64, the Nintendo flying game from 1996. It came out in September 2026, for the game’s thirtieth anniversary.

Tony and I have been best friends since we were kids: we walked to school together, played ball and played a lot of video games. He is a linguist and a musician. We both went to Victor Wooten’s Bass/Nature Camp. The name comes from what we say to each other most: yeah, man.

It started during the pandemic, when Tony laid a line from The Goonies over one of his favorite Pilotwings tracks, just for fun. He sent it to me, and we kept building for several years. We sampled the game’s original music, wove it together with other records, wrote lyrics and played our own parts. Dan Hess, who wrote the score, gave it his blessing.

01.4b  The film

The album film.

I made an animated film for the whole album: the two of us in pixel art, flying out over the sea, with each song’s name in the corner while it plays.

The film’s opening: Tony on a rocket belt and Alex in a gyrocopter over the sea, with the first song’s title, Flash Your Badge, in the corner.

Thank you for keeping it alive

You have taken this to another level, brotha.

01.4c  The games

A game for every song.

I built a small game for each song, to play while the song runs: a paper plane for the first, a soap bubble for the last. They are a tribute to Pilotwings, made for fun, and are meant for a computer with a keyboard.

Play the games (opens in a new tab)
The game for Flash Your Badge: a paper plane glides over a green island toward a water tower, beside a floating island.
The game for Medalheaded: riding a big green steed over golden hills toward a row of floating islands at sunset.
The game for Coyote Glider: a red hang glider over the sea between two floating islands, past rainbow rings.
The game for It’s All Magic: flying on red, blue and yellow wings up a grey mountainside, past tall striped towers.

New songs of our own are on the way.
